About the event

Waxcaps are the jewel in the crown of the fungi world - gloriously shiny in red, yellow, pink, green and blue. The Leasowes in Halesowen is blessed with an amazing array of waxcaps and other rare fungi, and Warden Perry will take you on the journey of how they helped secure the site's status as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The talk will explore how the team manage the site sympathetically to maintain and improve these nationally important habitats, and what it takes to become a SSSI. You'll discover some of the remarkable fungi to be found at this Black Country gem which is well worth a visit!
