Archaeology and Nature Walk at Moseley Bog (Free for Members)
About the event
Moseley Bog has been shaped by people’s exploitation and management of its resources over thousands of years. This walk will point out archaeological remains and other sources of information about the interaction between people and their surroundings in the past, and demonstrate how current management of the Reserve protects and promotes both the historic and natural environments.
Led by Dr Mike Hodder, Honorary Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Birmingham and former Planning Archaeologist of Birmingham, this walk is part of the Festival of Archaeology, organised by the Council for British Archaeology, which this year has the theme of Archaeology and Nature.
There will be two walks on the day, one at 11am and one at 2pm, setting off from the car park entrance at Yardley Wood Road. Please be sure to book the correct time slot for the walk you wish to attend.
The walk is also part of our ongoing programme of members’ events and it’s free for our members. Find out more about our memberships and how to join in our website: https://www.bbcwildlife.org.uk/JoinUs
The event is also open to non-members for a small fee. If you are not yet a member, please select this option when getting your tickets.
