About the event

Join us for a unique morning to observe the wonders of birds and nature!

Watch how the experts carefully catch, identify, measure, and ring birds - you'll learn more about your favourite species while getting up close to the birds themselves!

Bird ringing is the practice of attaching a small, individually numbered metal or plastic tag to a wild bird's leg. This allows researchers to identify individual birds and track their movements, lifespans and other vital data. The process helps in understanding bird populations and their life history, contributing significantly to scientific research and conservation efforts.

After the ringing demonstration you are welcome to join us for a bird inspired day up until 1pm - including a small brunch and hot/cold drinks.

How to get there: Access to EcoPark is through the gates of Eden Girls Leadership Academy on Hob Moor Road. Cars must park in the school car park except for disabled badge holders who can drive through the school car park, down and to the right, and through EcoPark gates to our small car park. Pedestrians should walk through the school car park, down and to the right and through EcoPark gates. Public transport and walking are strongly encouraged.
