About the event
Come one, come all, and join us for an Open Day at Moseley Bog!
Taking place on Saturday 5th July, 10.00am - 15.00pm, there will be much to enjoy throughout the day, from guided walks to family activities. Every part of the day is entirely free, although some of the walks will have limited places available, so book yours below. Schedule:
Birdwatching Walks with Chris Millward - 10.30 & 11.30am - SOLD OUT - Whether you're a birding beginner or a terrific twitcher, join us for brilliant birdwatching walks with local ornithologist, Chris Millward, whose passion and knowledge will be on full display.
Wildflower Walks - 10.30 & 11.30am - BOOK HERE - Join our Conservation Manager, Jake, to discover what grows in Moseley Bog's beautiful meadows, where we hope some of the reserve's amazing wild orchids will be at their peak!
Minibeast Hunts - 12.30 & 13.30pm - BOOK HERE - Join us for a family-friendly bug hunt which will illuminate the buzzing life going on all around us and hopefully inspire you to stop and look a bit closer!
Tolkien Tour - 12.30 & 13.30pm - SOLD OUT - Join Tolkien expert, Ash, from the Birmingham Museums Trust who will be leading you on a tour to discover how the Bog and its surroundings influenced a young J.R.R. Tolkien in the creation of Middle Earth!
ALL DAY EVENTS - Throughout the day, there will plenty of wild activities and nature-based fun for the entire family:

Sound baths led by Beckii & Boo
Printmaking workshops with Laura Onions
Children's activities
Green woodworking demonstrations
Refreshments available
This event is taking place as part of our Championing Nature programme. You can find out more about how we'll be connecting thousands of local people with the wild world on their doorstep here.
