We're looking for a Senior Conservation Officer to lead and develop the Trust's conservation training programme, delivering accredited and non-accredited training in practical conservation and wider nature recovery skills. From species identification and habitat management to tool use and volunteer leadership, you'll help build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to support nature's recovery across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of biodiversity enhancement and habitat creation projects across Birmingham and the Black Country.
  • Manage project budgets, reporting, resources and contractor procurement.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with landowners, community groups and other stakeholders.
  • Support the development of funding opportunities, grant applications and tenders.
  • Manage and support project staff, volunteers and trainees.
  • Contribute to the Trust's ecological restoration work, with a particular focus on freshwater and habitat restoration projects.

Salary and benefits.

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate. This approach allows for potential year-on-year salary increases, offering progression and appropriate rewards to employees. Requests for salaries above the maximum advertised range will not be considered.
