About the event

Join fungus expert Lukas Large from the West Midlands Fungus Group for a walk around Highbury Park to learn about the surprising variety of species that can be found in parks, gardens and other urban habitats.

Whilst we cannot be certain which fungus we will see on the day, this site is an excellent location to discover fungi, including some fascinating species - there will be much to see and learn!

Please arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled start time, meeting at the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust gazebo outside Highbury Hall. The walk will last approximately 1 hour 30 and will go off paved paths onto grass and potentially muddy and uneven areas, in the hunt for fungi.
