Politicians in the UK have made many big promises for nature, but the Westminster Government's own advisors agree: they're not doing enough to improve the natural world.

That’s why, ahead of the next General Election, over 70 environmental charities have joined forces to create a five-point plan for decision-makers. We want to see this reflected in all Party manifestos, to put a stop to nature’s decline.

Nature Tots is a Wildlife Trust programme for preschool age children, providing a wonderful opportunity for little ones to enjoy and learn from nature. 

Over recent days, the UK Government has launched an attack on nature, weakening the laws that protect our wildlife and making a U-turn on manifesto promises to be the greenest Government ever: reversing reforms to farming and making energy decisions that will worsen climate change.

Our Youth Action for Nature Project empowers young people in the region to build a strong relationship with the natural spaces around them, and in turn, to take action to protect those spaces and nature as a whole.

Restore Nature Now aims to be the biggest ever UK gathering for nature and climate. On Saturday 22nd June 2024, anyone who cares about a healthy environment can join this legal, peaceful and inclusive demonstration that is being organised by a wide range of nature, wildlife, environment and climate organisations and individuals. Together, we will call on ALL political parties to restore nature NOW, and make the upcoming General Election the turning point for nature that is so desperately needed.

Unity is our superpower!

We own and look after nature reserves using evidence based methods to increase biodiversity and create wildlife havens.

As nature becomes apparently less significant to our lives we value it less and do not look after it. As a result, the quality of our natural environment declines, and as it declines it becomes even less significant to us. It is vital that we reverse this disconnect with nature, both for our own sakes and to aid nature’s recovery.

A Nature Recovery Network is a joined-up system of places important for wild plants and animals, on land and at sea.

It allows plants, animals, seeds, nutrients and water to move from place to place and enables the natural world to adapt to change. It provides plants and animals with places to live, feed and breed. 

It can only do this effectively if, like our road network, it is treated as a joined-up whole.
