Running Out of Time Relay comes to EcoPark

Running Out of Time Relay comes to EcoPark

We were delighted to host a stage of the Running Out of Time Relay at our EcoPark environmental centre in Small Heath on Thursday 29th June. The relay celebrates climate action and nature along its 2,661 km route - that's a journey which runs from Ben Nevis to Big Ben!

Our EcoPark ambassador, Toqueer, was on hand to welcome relay runners to the site, as well as speak passionately to ITV News about EcoPark, its importance in connecting people to the natural world, and our place in addressing the climate crisis.

Running Out of Time will be the biggest sporting celebration of climate action and nature ever attempted across Britain. Taking place between June 10th and July 11th, thousands of runners, walkers, wheelers and cyclists will relay the baton across 366 stages; inspiring the nation to take collective action NOW to reach net zero!

After a quick tour of EcoPark for the Running Out of Time team, Toqueer set off running with the baton along the next stage of the route, with our Head of Education and Engagement, Gareth, cycling in support. We wish all the future participants well in this brilliant awareness-raising event for people and planet!
