National Marine Week Hits Birmingham and the Black Country

Thursday 1st August 2013

Jewel AnemonesThe beauty of marine life

National Marine Week is the time to celebrate UK seas, even if you're as far away from the coast as we are!

The UK's marine environment provides a haven for some of our most fascinating wildlife, such as basking sharks, grey seals, puffins and dolphins. However, rivers that have their sources in or pass through this area do flow all the way to the sea and we want to highlight these links.

The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country has a long-standing relationship with the National Sealife Centre and we are delighted to be working together with them to raise awareness of crucial marine conservation issues.

Each year The Wildlife Trusts celebrate the UK's amazing sea animals and plants during National Marine Week and this year we will be at The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham talking to people about Marine week and offering children the opportunity to learn more about sea life through art and craft activities.
