Vice President to give Bellamy Lecture

Wednesday 13th March 2013

Professor Chris Baines

Professor Chris Baines will give the inaugural David Bellamy lecture at Buckingham Palace this evening.

Trust President David Bellamy's charity, the Conservation Foundation, is partly sponsoring the event and Professor Baines will use it as a chance to celebrate his achievements over the past almost 50 years, but also speak of the need for a step change in action to preserve our natural heritage.

Despite the great work of people like David Bellamy and The Wildlife Trusts, he says bold action is needed to stop more species being driven to extinction and to restore lost habitat.

It is great that such a prestigious event features two of our supporters who will be promoting work towards creating living landscapes.

Professor Baines spoke about it on the Today programme on radio 4 this morning at 2 hours 47 minutes: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01r5ng0/Today_13_03_2013/
