The Big (Bog) Lunch

Posted: Thursday 11th June 2015 by Lesley.S

A feast of family-friendly fun at Moseley Bog and Joy’s Wood

On Sunday 7th June 2015, Moseley Bog and Joy’s Wood Nature Reserve hosted its inaugural Big Lunch. In addition to learning more about the wildlife at the reserve, families took part in a range of fun activities and shared food with friends old and new.

On a gloriously sunny day families and friends walked around the reserve, spotting wildlife and enjoying the beauty of this wonderful site. Other activities took place for family members of all ages to enjoy including the chance to dance in the sunshine at the Zumbathon, storytelling, songs and wildlife crafts.

The event also marked the official opening of the beautiful new entrance gates linking the bog to Sarehole Mill by local MP Roger Godsiff. Our thanks go to him for all his help on the day and also to all the volunteers who came along and helped, the Scouts, storytellers and Zumba instructor Jane Louise.
