Volunteers are given the opportunity to get involved in a variety of practical conservation tasks and ecological surveys to conserve the reserve for wildlife and people.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, gain practical habitat management skills, spend time outdoors and discover the wildlife in your local greenspace.

The number of volunteers per session will be limited to five volunteers with one group leader. Booking onto a volunteer day is therefore essential.

You will only be permitted to join in a volunteer session if you are a registered volunteer and have confirmation of your booking. This forms part of our Track and Trace procedure and also allows the group leader to bring enough tools and equipment for the group.

All tools and equipment are provided but you will need to bring some lunch. No prior experience of conservation volunteering is required as training will be given by our staff.

We advise volunteers to wear outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather and sturdy footwear including walking boots, wellington boots or ideally steel-toe capped boots.

Please note there are no toilets on site.
