A career in urban wildlife conservation
Do you love wildlife and working outdoors? Are you practical and want to learn new skills? Can you help people connect with nature in the city?
The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country are now recruiting five highly motivated individuals with a keen interest in wildlife and conservation to undertake one-year practical conservation training placements. Trainees will undertake the work-based City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Environmental Conservation.

Eligibility
If you are looking to start your conservation career in Birmingham or the Black Country, you could be eligible for one of these Natural Prospects Traineeships. To apply you need to be aged 18 or over, based in Birmingham or the Black Country, and either:
• from a black or minority ethnic group, or
• a non-graduate, or
• in receipt of benefits/from an economically deprived area.
You only need to meet one of these 3 criteria to be eligible.

Application Process
The role descriptions and personal specifications for the 5 positions are attached below, along with the application form and guidance on how to complete it. 2 placements will be with the Wildlife Trust and 3 will be with our Council partners in Birmingham, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Candidates may apply for more than one post at the same time.
