Projects and Initiatives

The Wildlife Trust has projects and activities all across Birmingham and the Black Country. here are a selection of our our activities.

Biodiversity - we host the coordinator for the Birmingham and Black Country Biodiversity Partnership.

Campaigns - helping local people to stand up for their local wildlife.

Conservation Projects - from surveying ancient woodlands to protecting scarce species, we are constantly working for wildlife.

EcoRecord - the biological record centre for Birmingham and the Black Country.

Education - promoting the understanding and appreciation of wildlife and the environment with people of all ages, from pre-school to the third age.

Environment Centres - we have two environmental education centres used by schools and communities.

Forest Schools - building confidence and skills for young people in a woodland setting.

Friends Groups - supporting and advising community groups who look after their local wildlife sites.

Greener Futures - working with Future Housing to promote volunteering in the natural environment.

Living Landscapes - working to make Birmingham and the Black Country an even better place for people and wildlife.

Nature Reserves - we have nature reserves across Birmingham and the Black Country.

Outdoor Learning - introducing young people to the natural world.

Valuing Ecosystem Services - innovative work that is showing just how much impact our work for wildlife has to support social and economic regeneration.
