  • Enjoy Nature's Greatest Hits - International Dawn Chorus Day

    The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country is hosting four events to celebrate the greatest natural concert in the world – the Dawn Chorus, performed by scores of native birds including Robins, Willow Warbler and Sparrows. The performances are part of International Dawn Chorus Day, a global event, that started right here in Birmingham.

    Conservation officers for The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country have spotted Orchids appearing all over our Nature Improvement Area (NIA) meadows, like the Green Winged Orchids spotted at Castle Vale Meadows, whilst a wide variety of wildflower species have flowered in NIA woodlands like in Turner’s Field Plantation in Smestow Valley. Since 2012 The Trust have been working with partners and volunteers to create meadows and enhance woodlands across Birmingham and the Black Country as part of the NIA initiative spearheaded by The Wildlife Trust.
