We are pleased to report that The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country is now in a stronger financial position.

The highlights from the Trust’s audited end of year accounts for financial year 2015 – 2016 include:

  • An end of year surplus of £88,950.
  • An unrestricted income surplus of £46,360 (this is a financial measure of the health of an organisation).
  • We have increased our unrestricted income from 52% of our total income to 62% of our total income.

Unrestricted income is money given for no specific reason and is important for a strong and resilient organisation. This unrestricted surplus begins to build our reserves. We need to have 3 months operating costs to reduce our vulnerability, so we are making significant progress to achieving this aim.

The Treasurer's Report and Annual Accounts will be presented to members in more detail our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday January 18 at 6.30pm at International Design Hub, The Colmore Building, Birmingham.

All of our members will receive an invitation and an agenda for the AGM with their next issue of Wildlife magazine, due to be distributed before Christmas.
